Uber and GoPasco are providing free rides to comfort stations during the operating hours. GoPasco can be scheduled by contacting customer service and Uber can be scheduled through the app using promo code PASCOSTRONG. City of Port Richey has one comfort station
Station to begin operations at Sea Ranch Civic Association 13711 Veronica Dr, Hudson, FL 34667. Water and MRE distribution. Shower trailers, restroom trailers, laundry trailers, charging stations, and air conditioning. Hours of operation will be 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Transportation Starting October 3rd, GoPasco will be transporting residents to and from comfort stations by using a reservation system in coordination with Customer Service. Community Recovery Resources Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church 5417 High Street New Port Richey, FL 34652 providing free disaster assistance supplies and services on October 2nd – October 16th from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Insurance Village in Clearwater
The “Insurance Village” resource center is to open in Clearwater this weekend for residents to expedite the filing of insurance claims. The Florida Department of Financial Services’ Division of Consumer Services will host around 42 insurance agencies to help residents who are in the process of filing a claim. The “Insurance Village” will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 4 through Sunday, Oct. 6, at the Long Center, 1501 North Belcher Road. “If you have a claim that you have started the insurance carrier will write you a check to get you stabilized,” Florida Chief Financial Officer, Jimmy Patronis said. Disaster Unemployment Assistance Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is available to businesses and residents whose employment or self-employment was lost or interrupted as a direct result of Hurricane Helene and are not eligible for regular state or federal Reemployment Assistance benefits. Eligible Floridians whose employment or self-employment was lost or interrupted because of Hurricane Helene can submit a claim at floridajobs.org. From WFLA. Florida Medicaid Health Care Alert Tropical Storm Helene - Key Medicaid Information for Fee-for-Service and Managed Care Providers / September 25, 2024 Florida Medicaid recipients maintaining access to critical Medicaid services (e.g., durable medical equipment and supplies, home health services, hospital services, nursing facility services, chemotherapy, dialysis services, etc.) is imperative during the State of Emergency related to Tropical Storm Helene. Hurricane Helene Health and Human Service Assistance for the Public
Pinellas County will begin collecting residential storm debris from Hurricane Helene in the unincorporated area of the county on Wednesday, Oct. 2. Storm debris collection will be implemented in zones. The areas that should be prepared for the first pass of storm debris removal, beginning Oct. 2, are:
There will be a second pass for each zone at a date to be announced. Storm debris in bags and/or not separated will NOT be picked up. Storm debris must be loose and separated by type: vegetative material, construction and demolition debris (doors, drywall, mattresses and furniture) and household appliances. Refrigerators must be empty. For more information on the sorting process and a map of zones, visit Pinellas.gov/debris. Small piles of vegetative debris will not be collected. For residents with manageable vegetative debris such as branches, twigs and leaves, place it in your receptacle or bags and put it out for pick up by your regular trash collection provider. If you live in a municipality, contact your city or town about the availability of storm debris pickup in their area. If you’re not sure if your property is located within unincorporated Pinellas or within a city/municipality, use the interactive My Neighborhood Services tool to find out. For those living on private roads or in gated communities, check with your homeowner’s association for storm debris collection or use the County’s debris management site at 13600 ICOT Boulevard in Clearwater. The Pinellas County Solid Waste cannot accept storm-related debris from residents or private haulers. The facility is not an approved site for storm debris disposal. Red Tide Pinellas County and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) are monitoring low to medium concentrations of Red Tide detected in water samples taken from Pinellas waters. Low concentrations were found off Pass-a-Grille, the Clearwater Intracoastal Waterway and Honeymoon Island. Medium concentrations were found off St. Pete Beach, Madeira Beach and Dunedin Causeway. Pinellas Update: FEMA Disaster Recovery Center to open at Largo Public Library The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will open a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) at Largo Public Library, 120 Central Park Drive, Largo, to assist residents affected by Hurricane Helene on Wednesday, Oct. 2. The DRC will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. DRCs serve as centralized locations where people can access various services and information related to disaster recovery, including:
Tuesday, October 1, 2024 FEMA assistance is now available to Pinellas County residents who experienced damages/losses due to Hurricane Helene. Disaster assistance may include financial help for temporary lodging, basic home repairs and other disaster-caused expenses. Eligible residents can apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov, using the FEMA app, or by phone at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). As of 8:00 AM today (10/01), 23,239 residents have registered for FEMA assistance.
