Gene noticed he was feeling less stable after an injury. He knew that after an initial fall, he was at higher risk of falling again, so he reached out to see what was available through the Area Agency on Aging’s network of community partners. He began regularly attending Tai Chi at his local senior center, and even convinced his friends to come along. Not only does the Tai Chi help him feel balanced and stronger, but it even offers him a sense of calm and relaxation, not to mention some time with his friends. Gene is no longer fearful of falls, as he has found a way to ensure he stays healthy and active for years to come.
