The Senior Helpline is a federally funded service to help seniors and caregivers gain access to services in the community. As part of the Aging and Disability Resource Center, the Senior Helpline staff provide information and assistance/referral over the telephone to seniors and caregivers in Pasco and Pinellas Counties. They also provide information for adults age 18 and over who have severe and persistent mental illness. Calls are answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Area Agency on Aging staff are available to answer calls from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. 2-1-1 Tampa Bay Cares answers calls after hours and on holidays.

The Senior Helpline is able to provide information on government funded programs, non-profit agencies, and for-profit businesses that serve seniors in this two county area. Information is available in many areas including caregiver support, case management, in-home services, insurance counseling, legal help, meal services, nursing home and assisted living facilities, transportation, and victim advocacy. The Senior Helpline also serves as the entry point for several community programs, and refers callers to the Intake Department for triage, telephone screening, and prioritizaton for services.

The Senior Helpline uses the Florida Relay Service. By dialing 711 individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, or speech impaired can can contact the Senior Helpline and receive information and assistance. For more information on Florida Relay click here.
