If you have an older version of the software, you may need to upgrade in order to read the files. The DOEA Program and Services Handbook is available from the Florida Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA). This pdf document reflects the differences between the new 2009 edition and the 2008 edition. Additional resources are also available on the Florida Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA) Web site. The following publications are available from the Area Agency on Aging.2010 Summary Plan Document The Summary Plan Document is used at the annual public hearing in August of each year, at which time the public has an opportunity to comment on the annual update to the Multiyear Plan of the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, Inc. This document provides a brief explanation of aging services in Pasco and Pinellas Counties; describes the aging population in the two county area; and summarizes the major funding decisions contained in the Area Plan. This is a large file and may take a few minutes to download. Glances - the AAAPP Newsletter The Spring 2009 edition of Glances is available here in Adobe PDF format. The Caregiver Handbook You can download each section of the 2006 printing of the Caregiver Handbook. They are available as an Adobe pdf file below. The Senior Resource Directory The latest edition was printed in July of 2006. This 235 page book includes details on every agency and business in the Senior Helpline's database, an information guide for persons caring for an individual suffering from Alzheimer's Disease and related dementia, and Help Pages that provide useful information on a variety of senior related topics, including fall prevention, disaster preparedness, resolving consumer problems, and arranging in-home help. It also includes descriptions of Medicare, Medicaid, and programs funded by the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, Inc. For more information on community resources call The Senior Helpline at 1-800-96-ELDER, The current list of resources used by the Senior Helpline is available and searchable online by clicking here. The database is designed to improve access to publicly funded, long-term care services, to pubic assistance programs such as Medicaid and Food Stamps, and to other community resources, including private, for-profit businesses.To search, click the link above, enter the city or zip code of the area where services are needed, and then choose the category of services for which you want information. You can also search by the name of the agency or business if you have that information already. If you do not enter the zip code or city, it will provide ALL of the resources in the state of Florida for the category of services you selected.
