A Database of Resources for the State of Florida

The Florida Department of Elder Affairs has developed a database of resources available for seniors and caregivers through the Aging and Disbility Resource Centers (ADRC). Information is also available to adults age 18 and over with severe and persistent mental illness. Individuals can call the Senior Helpline at the ADRC (727-217-8111 in Pinellas or 1-800-861-8111 in Pasco) for information about programs and services contained in the database. The goal of the Aging and Disability Resource Center is to improve access to publicly funded, long-term care services, to pubic assistance programs such as Medicaid and Food Stamps, and to other community resources., including private, for-profit businesses.

Publicly funded programs may have wait lists and services are provided first to those who are in greatest need or at risk of being placed in a nursing home. Persons who meet the minimum eligibility standards will be referred to the Intake Department at the Area Agency for a more extensive telephone assessment.

The database also includes a list of non-profit agencies and private, for-profit businesses that serve seniors.
