Abuse Hotline Adult Comprehensive Protection Services (ACPS)is a non-profit charitable corporation serving the needs of elderly individuals and mentally incapacitated persons - regardless of income or asset level - who are experiencing problems with activities of daily living. ACPS specializes in a variety of senior services including geriatric care management and guardianship services and provides support and communication for the deaf. ACPS has also contracted with the State of Florida Department of Children and Families to provide community mental health case management under Chapter 394 F.S. and 65E-15 F.A.C. to adult targeted chronic mental health consumers in Pinellas, Hillsborough and Pasco counties. 8130 66th St. N., Suite 12, Pinellas Park, FL 33781 Coalition to Prevent Substance Abuse and Suicide, Inc. A volunteer organization dedicated to education and prevention of suicide. Directions for Mental Health is a community mental health center providing prevention, early intervention and treatment, adult and children's outpatient services, mental health therapies, and psychiatric services in upper Pinellas County. In-home counseling for seniors is available through federal funding. Gulf Coast Community Care's Geriatric Crisis Response Team provides specialized intervention for elders at risk of suicide. Conducted in close coordination with the State of Florida Adult Protective Services, this holistic program provides in-home assessment, crisis intervention counseling, psychiatric evaluation, follow-up and case management with the overall goal of reducing suicide risk. The Harbor Behavioral Health Care Institute offers a full range of comprehensive mental health and substance abuse treatment services in Pasco and Hernando Counties. Additionally, The Harbor has been designated by the Florida Department of Children and Families as a Baker Act Receiving Facility for adults, children and adolescents. Hernando-Pasco Hospice, Inc - Bereavement Program offers individual and group bereavement support to those grieving the loss of a loved one. Specialized groups for survivors of suicide, parents, and children. Currently a suicide survivors groups meets the first and third Wednesday of the month at the Hospice office in Trouble Creek Square located at 4422 Grand Blvd, New Port Richey. Hospice of the Florida Suncoast Hospice Bridges Community Bereavement Services offers bereavement counseling on a one-on-one or family basis. A suicide bereavement program is offered. Children receive services through the Child and Family Support Program. PEMHS (Pinellas Emergency Mental Health Services) provides Crisis Units for those in need of assessment and treatment. PEMHS Family Emergency Treatment Center is an ambulatory walk-in center for mental health and addiction treatment. Senior Helpline is a program of the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, Inc. which provides information and assistance to seniors, Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5 PM. The focus is on connecting seniors to community resources, including governmental, non-profit agencies, and private businesses which serve seniors and enable them to remain independent in the community. Pinellas ? 727-217-8111 Suicide Hotline Suncoast Center for Community Mental Health Victim Assistance Programs are available through the larger local law enforcement departments, including Clearwater Police, Gulfport Police, Largo Police, New Port Richey Police, Pasco County Sheriff, Pinellas County Sheriff, Pinellas Park Police, and St. Petersburg Police. Areas not covered by these departments are served by a Victim Advocate at the State Attorney?s Office. A Victim Advocate may be called in by law enforcement personnel immediately after the suicide to assist the survivor in handling needed tasks and to make referrals to counseling programs |
