Promoting Healthy Lifestyles
"We are encouraging Americans of all ages to live healthier lives. Healthy living can prevent diseases and certain disabilities, and it can ensure that today's older persons - as well as future generations - not only live longer, but also better."
-Josefina G. Carbonell, Assistant Secretary, Administration on Aging
The federal Administration on Aging's (AOA) website has a page called "Promoting Healthy Lifestyles" that provides many links to information on health promotion and disease prevention. To visit the AOA website, click here.
One of the sites linked to AoA is NIHSeniorHealth.gov, a website of the National Institutes of Health. It offers information on a variety of topics from arthritis to how to talk with your doctor. A new topic offered on the site is "Eating Well as You Get Older".
