History of the ADRC Project

  • State law specifies that Area Agencies on Aging will transition to ARCs.
  • The Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA) released the Guidelines for preparing the ARC/ARDC proposal and the first Implementation Plan dated October 31, 2004
  • A second draft Implementation Plan was released, dated November 12, 2004
  • DOEA hosted a meeting for AAA's in Tallahassee on November 17, 2004 at which the ARC/ADRC Implementation Plan was discussed and questions were raised
  • The Department of Elder Affairs released a final version dated December 1, 2004 of the Aging Resource Center Implementation Guidelines.
  • Area Agencies on Aging submitted the written proposal by December 31, 2004.
  • DOEA selected three AAAs to be the first to transition to ARCs and these three will also be designated as ADRCs.
  • The three selected were:
    * The Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, Inc
    * Senior Resource Alliance (Orange,Osceola, and Seminole counties)
    * AAA of Broward County
  • The ARC implementation for PSA 5 will be made on August 1, 2005.
